28 First Responder Agencies To Recieve Grants for Emergency Preparedness

JEFFERSON CITY, Tuesday, October 28, 2008-

Gov. Matt Blunt today announced 28 first responder agencies will receive new equipment through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program (CEDAP).  The equipment will improve their capability and capacity to respond to emergencies and to work with other first responders, helping to improve public safety across the state.

Faith-Based Missouri Disaster Relief Initiative Gaining National Attention

JEFFERSON CITY, Tuesday, October 21, 2008-

Gov. Matt Blunt’s Faith-Based Missouri Disaster Relief Initiative is gaining national attention and quickly becoming a cutting-edge model for the federal government, other states. 

“Our Faith-Based Missouri Disaster Relief Initiative is connecting state and local responders together with faith-based organizations to help prepare for and respond to disasters,” Gov. Blunt said. 

Governor Marks Cyber Security Month

JEFFERSON CITY, Thursday, October 16, 2008

Gov. Matt Blunt issued a proclamation marking October as Cyber Security Awareness Month.

“The Internet has provided immeasurable benefits to us all. However, like many good things, there are those who seek to misuse them like the deviants who use the Internet and social networking sites to harm others,” Gov. Blunt said. “Cyber Security Awareness Month is a time for communities, law enforcement agencies and all Missouri families to familiarize themselves with the threats and raise public awareness about cyber security.”
