Description

Diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases in school-aged children, affecting about 176,500 young people in the United States, or about 1 in every 400-600 young people under the age of 20. The National Association of School Nurses strongly supports safe and appropriate care of all students with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and screening for and prevention of diabetes in at-risk youth. This page provides tools and resources for the school nurse to effectively manage and prevent diabetes at school.
