Lewis' Educational & Research Collaborative Internship Project

[Students Grades 12-Higher Education]
[Available: Nationally]

Lewis' Educational & Research Collaborative Internship Project, or LERCIP College, is an educational, summer opportunity for eligible college students (graduating high school seniors through doctoral candidates). Students receive a 10-week, paid internship and, if eligible, travel reimbursement. The project provides students with introductory professional experiences to complement their academic programs and research interests under the guidance of Glenn Research Center scientists or engineers who serve as the students' mentors. The project gives students first-hand experience in a research and development environment. Students learn about possible career choices in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Activities include oral presentations and a variety of enrichment experiences. The internships are offered under the auspices of LERCIP and are a collaborative undertaking of GRC's Educational Programs Office and the Ohio Aerospace Institute. Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
