Program Description

The Kennedy Space Center's Internship Project is intended to attract students pursuing degrees that are of interest to KSC. The interns will work during the summer months as well as other academic terms. The objective is to inform students about KSC's mission and to give them valuable work experience related to their academic studies. The project also provides KSC an opportunity to evaluate the student's suitability for participation in the co-op program or full-time employment upon graduation.

Eligibility

--Students must be U.S citizens.
--Students must have achieved at least a 3.0 overall grade point average.
--Students must have completed their junior year in high school.
--Students must be at least 16 years of age.
--Students must satisfactorily pass a security background investigation.

How to Apply

Academic institutions that have established intern programs will be notified of the center's needs and asked to refer students for consideration. However, students who meet the eligibility requirements may also apply directly to the center by providing the following information:

1. Resume.
2. Copy of academic transcript.
3. A letter of recommendation from the academic department (e.g., academic counselor or professor) that states the student is in good standing, the student's overall grade point average, and the number of hours completed toward the degree being pursued.

Deadlines (These dates are the same each year)

--Fall applications are due by May 15.
--Spring applications are due by Oct. 15.
--Summer applications are due by Feb. 15.
