Mission:
The mission of the Biological Research Unit is to develop economically and ecologically sound methods for managing insect pests in stored grain, processed commodities, and storage and processing facilities. A multi-disciplinary team conducts fundamental and applied research on new biological and ecological approaches to pest management that will prevent quality losses due to insect infestation in grains and value-added products during storage and reduce the use of traditional pesticides on grain and grain products. Successful completion of the mission will provide a sustainable supply of high-quality cereal products.
