Audio Clip: I’m Rhett Butler, Director of the Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives of the U.S. Department of Labor.
Today, we are announcing the faith-based and community groups that have won a competition to receive additional funding from the U.S. Labor Department. They have demonstrated outstanding results in reaching and transforming people’s lives providing the tools needed for those who had been left behind to help them find a job and stay employed. The additional grant money will expand proven, successful programs that make a difference for those who face barriers to employment.
The U.S. Department of Labor applauds the great work being done to help people get back on their feet and into good jobs. This is what the President’s Faith-Based and Community Initiative is all about—believing that we can do better for our neighbors in need when we work together with every willing partner.
