Statement of U.S. Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao on Passage of Legislation to Create Personal Reemployment Accounts

WASHINGTON—U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao today released the following statement in response to the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of H.R. 444, the Back to Work Incentive Act:

“With the creation of 1.1 million new jobs since last summer, the President’s economic policies are working. This Administration is committed to helping dislocated workers obtain the training they need to capitalize on these new career opportunities and Personal Reemployment Accounts, or PRAs, would give workers unprecedented choice in accessing the services and training they need to help them prepare for new jobs.

“Congressmen John Boehner, Buck McKeon and Jon Porter deserve a great deal of credit for their leadership on this bill on behalf of America’s workers.”
