ABSTRACT: STRIDE consists of
six (6) subsystems providing information on drug intelligence, statistics
on markings found on pills and capsules, drug inventory, tracking,
statistical information on drugs removed from the market place, utilization
of laboratory manpower and information on subsystems analyzed outside
of the DEA laboratory system where DEA participated in the seizure(s).
PURPOSE: The system provides
the medium for inputting, updating and displaying the results of analysis
of substance evidence and for the characterization of physical and
chemical characteristics of substance evidence to determine the origin
of the evidence.
ACCESS CONSTRAINTS: All records
in STRIDE are protected from unauthorized access through appropriate
administrative, physical, and technical safeguards.
USE CONSTRAINTS: Use of STRIDE
is restricted to those authorized to perform assigned tasks.
AGENCY PROGRAM: The DEA is the
law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of Justice. It is charged
with the enforcement of the laws governing the Controlled Substances
Act. This system is one of the tools utilized by the DEA to accomplish
the mission of the agency.
SOURCE OF DATA: Data contained
in system is as a result of DEA investigations and drug analysis throughout
the law enforcement community world wide.
