ABSTRACT: This information system contains active and inactive personnel and personal information on DEA employees. Personnel Data - SSN, Name, DOB, SCD, Organizational Code, Title, Work Phone, Special Duty Code. Personal Data - SSN, Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip Code, Marital Status, Next of Kin, Home Phone Number, and Blood Type.

PURPOSE: To provide ready access to accurate employee information to avoid any delays when emergency situations arise. The information is essential because of the sensitivity of DEA operations.

ACCESS CONSTRAINTS: Access to PLS is strictly controlled and includes the appropriate administrative, physical and technical safeguards, and data encryption.

USE CONSTRAINTS: All DEA employees can view their own record or locate another employee stationed in a different office. Updating PLS is strictly controlled by preauthorization by supervisor and special access levels.

AGENCY PROGRAM: In mission of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is to bring to the United States (U.S.) criminal justice system those individuals or organizations involved in the growing, manufacturing, or distributing of controlled substances for illicit traffic in the U.S. PLS provides immediate employee information to avoid any delays when emergency situations arise during the employees performance of their duties relating to DEA mission.

SOURCE OF DATA: Data contained in PLS comes from the Request for Personnel Action Form (SF-52) and the Employee Locator Form (DOJ-233).
