ABSTRACT: The Agent Recruitment
Tracking System tracks perspective applicants throughout the selection
process for law enforcement positions within the DEA. Also, this system
tracks the following requirements for employment with DEA: Security,
Drug Screening, Medical, Polygraph, Psychological and Physical fitness
testing.
PURPOSE: It allows recruiters,
physical fitness coordinators, and background investigative personnel
in the field to access information to facilitate the hiring process.
ACCESS CONSTRAINTS: Records maintained
in the database are protected from unauthorized access through appropriate
administrative, physical, and technical safeguards. These safeguards
include restricting access to those with a need-to-know to perform
their official duties.
USE CONSTRAINTS: Use is restricted
to those official personnel whose access is necessary to perform assigned
tasks.
SOURCES OF DATA: Data contained
in the system is the result of DEA investigations and information obtained
during the application screening process. This information is derived
from interviews, polygraphs, Physical Task Tests, medicals, and drug
tests.
AGENCY PROGRAM: The DEA is the
drug law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of Justice and is tasked
to enforce the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United
States. This system is one of the tools of DEA to ensure that the recruitment
and hiring process is conducted in an efficient and effective manner.
It should be considered as vital to accomplish the mission of the agency.
