Washington, D.C. - On behalf of the U.S. Agency for International Development, I am pleased to send warm greetings to those celebrating Christmas. Every year, Christians rejoice during this season when their Prince of Peace was born. The spirit of Christmas inspires love, generosity, and hope.

I have recently returned from the Palestinian Territories and Israel, where I was able to see first hand USAID's vital development efforts supporting the peace process in this region. My thoughts are with all those who are working toward peace around the world, and I wish you all a joyous season with your families and loved ones.

The American people, through the U.S. Agency for International Development, have provided economic and humanitarian assistance worldwide for nearly 50 years.
