The National Rural Community
Assistance (RCA) Awards highlight relationships and accomplishments
of local action teams and rural leaders in partnership with
the Forest Service.
Past award accomplishments have been real life examples
of collaborative resource management and community-based stewardship.
Experience has shown that many of the award nominees
are already fully involved in making sustainable development
a reality across America.
This is especially significant in this
time of world tension and economic difficulties. The collaborative efforts are outstanding examples of working
at the local level to contribute to the overall good of the
country.
The awards in Action, Leadership, and Spirit
categories are presented to rural communities, private individuals,
employees and units of other government agencies, community-based
groups, and Forest Service units and employees in Action,
Leadership, and Spirit categories.
