MOSUL — U.S. Soldiers from the 552nd Military Police Company teamed up with Iraq’s Emergency Response Battalion 2 to help spread the message of unity in Mosul, Oct. 30-31. Armed with 50 posters reading "Protect Those who Protect You" and “Trust the Iraqi Security Forces for a Better Iraq,” plus 40 large “Unity – One Iraq” stickers, the two armies convoyed throughout the east side of the city, stopping at various fortified checkpoints to hang the signs. |

FOB KALSU — Thirty-four Iraqi detainees were released from different regions of northern Babil, Oct. 31, making 430 the total number of detainees released by 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division. "Much has changed in Babil province in the year since many of you have been detained," said Lt. Col. Michael Getchell, commander of 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, to nine detainees released by his unit here. "I ask you to stand on the bridge and walk to the future, embrace the change and not look back at the past." |
MOSUL — A medical aid drop took place at Somer Medical Clinic in the Mosul neighborhood of Somer, Oct. 18. Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd Iraqi Army Division transported nearly $20,000 worth of medical supplies and office furniture to help the 90-plus-strong staff at the clinic, which was purchased from the local economy. |
BAGHDAD — The Iranian-sponsored Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq network was further degraded today with the capture of six network criminals by Coalition forces early Sunday in Nasiriyah, in the Dhi Qar province. Acting on intelligence information, Coalition forces targeted alleged Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq criminals in two separate operations in Nasiriyah. |
