CA Healthy Cities and Communities

Celebrating 20 Years - Laying the Foundation, Leading the Way

This Year, the CA Healthy Cites and Communities celebrates 20 years of success in California. What began in 1988 as a vision of bringing the World Health Organizations's Healthy Cities model to California, has grown and flourished to become the largest and longest running statewide program of its kind in the nation. To recognize this milestone, the Center for Civic Partnerships has just released a new brochure which highlights some of the significant outcomes, successes and accomplishments that have been achieved over the lifespan of the program. A Healthy City/Community promotes a positive physical, social and economic environment that supports the well-being of its members.  The Program brokers programmatic and financial resources by working closely with local, regional and statewide organizations to support Healthy Cities and Communities efforts throughout the state.  Healthy Cities and Communities have leveraged over $40 million and obtained valuable community building resources for local Healthy City/Community efforts.More Healthy Cities and Communities Information.

Organizational Development Services Program

Funded by a Grant from The California Wellness Foundation

One of The California Wellness Foundation’s (TCWF) goals is to support and strengthen nonprofit organizations that seek to improve the health of underserved populations. As part of their strategy to meet that goal, they have provided a grant to the Public Health Institute’s Center for Civic Partnerships to conduct the Organizational Development Services program for their grantees.  The goal of the Organizational Development Services program is to provide individual, customized support to executive directors based upon the needs and interests identified by each participating organization. Organizational Learning and Evaluation Program Program

Funded by a Grant from The California Wellness Foundation

The Organizational Learning and Evaluation (OLE) program enhances the capacity for organizational and evaluative learning among grantee organizations of The California Wellness Foundation. The OLE program has two major components – two one-day conferences to reach a broad audience of TCWF grantees, and a technical support and peer exchange program that will coincide with the Center’s current Organizational Development Services Program.
