The National Asian Women's Health Organization was founded in 1993 to eliminate health disparities for Asian women and families. NAWHO's goals are to raise awarenesss about the health needs of Asian Americans through research and education, and to empower Asian women and families as decision-makers through leadership development and advocacy. Through innovative programs and partnerships, NAWHO is increasing knowledge of breast and cervical cancers, expanding accesss to immunizations, changing attitudes about reproductive health care, and breaking the stigma around depression and mental health.
