Description
The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) is a professional organization made up of ninety percent of U.S. ophthalmologists, dedicated to helping the public maintain healthy eyes and good vision. AAO activities include education, public and professional information, representation, member services, ethics and relations with ophthalmologic services, and an annual meeting.

Publications for the public include several brochures on a variety of topics, Eye Fact Sheets, and a Public and Professional Information Catalog, clinical alerts, information statements, public health notes, and policy statements. Serial publications: Ophthalmology (journal), monthly; Argus (newspaper), monthly; and Refractive Surgey Outlook (newsletter), quarterly.
