Description
Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH) was formed in 1949 to stimulate and support professional research on hypnosis and its boundary areas, to encourage members of professional and scientific disciplines to cooperate in using hypnosis in research and in practice, to support communication by scientific meetings and publications, to set up standards of adequacy and ethics for users of hypnosis, and to offer standardized training for those who qualify. Referral services are provided to persons seeking hypnotherapeutic help. The Society provides information to individuals seeking information on hypnosis. It has about 400 members.

Serial publications: International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, quarterly--original contributions dealing with hypnosis in psychology, psychiatry, the medical and dental sciences, allied areas of science, and abstracts in German, French, and Spanish; SCEH Newsletter (FOCUS), three times yearly --information of interest to members.
