Description

The National Self-Help Clearinghouse was established to disseminate information relating to self-help mutual aid groups and to provide support services for such groups. Clearinghouse functions include publication of papers, reports, and conference proceedings and providing information and referral services. The Clearinghouse also encourages, supports, and conducts training activities, including training for professionals with respect to self-help and ways to work with mutual aid groups, and research activities, including research on the effects of self-help and on the character of the self-help process.

The Clearinghouse publishes papers and reports on self-help, a training curriculum, bibliographies, and guides to organizing self-help groups and self-care programs.
