Description
New Eyes for the Needy was founded in 1932 to provide better vision for the poor throughout the world. This organization solicits metal frames in any condition, unbroken plastic framed glasses, sunglasses, hearing aids, cataract lenses, and jewelry. Cash donations and proceeds from the resale of donated items are used to purchase new prescription glasses for the needy in the United States. Reusable plastic-framed glasses are sent abroad for redistribution. A brochure describing the organization's program and providing suggestions for local organizations conducting campaigns to collect the requested materials is available.
