Description
The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) was established to promote the public health, to encourage scientific research, and to maintain and improve high standards of medical education in osteopathic colleges. The Department of Educational Affairs sets the standards for and accredits osteopathic medical colleges and hospitals, postdoctoral training and board certification programs. The AOA's most active philanthropic affiliate is the National Osteopathic Foundation, which raises funds for research, student loans, postdoctoral education, and the support of osteopathic colleges.
