Race for the Grasshopper - 1 mile fun run and 5K road race.
At the close of the Battle of Cowpens in 1781, two American officers, confident in victory, raced for the ultimate prize, a British three-pounder cannon, called the “Grasshopper”. Join the race and celebrate the 228th anniversary of this historic victory!

Sheila Ingle will present a monologue as Kate Barry, heroine of the American Revolution, at 3:30. Following this 20-minute program, she will sign copies of her book, "Courageous Kate A Daughter of the American Revolution."

Cowpens National Battlefield will host a winter holiday event on, Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The park visitor center and the Historic Scruggs House (circa 1830) will be decorated for the winter holidays
