Chester Carlson reenacts his original 1938 Astoria experiment, creating the first xerographic image by using static electricity, crystalline sulfur and lycopodium powder and the heat of a Bunsen burner. This photo was taken in 1962, 14 years after the original experiment, but only two years after the successful launch of the first plain paper copier – the Xerox 914.
