CDC's Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH) supports 23 national nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) to provide capacity-building assistance (CBA)* to education agencies, health agencies, community-based organizations, institutions of higher education, organizations that serve youth and parents, organizations that serve youth at high risk for HIV infection, and DASH Funded NGOs.
NGOs apply for and receive funding to provide capacity-building assistance in one or more of the following priority areas:

Capacity-Building Assistance (CBA) is the transmission of knowledge, skills, expertise, and attitudes to strengthen the core competencies essential for agencies and organizations to improve the delivery, effectiveness, and sustainability of disease prevention and health promotion programs for youth. |

Other Cooperative Agreements
DASH also supports four nongovernmental organizations in collaboration
with the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion
and other Centers at CDC under
collaborative cooperative agreements.
