From March 2003–February 2008, Idaho received funding from CDC’s Division of
Adolescent and School Health to provide HIV prevention education and conduct
the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS).For information on Idaho's

Past Program Activities
Provided HIV
Prevention Education
- Maintained and updated the statewide professional development
cadre that conducts regional workshops for teachers and staff on HIV
prevention strategies.
- Conducted regional workshops on HIV/AIDS prevention to ensure that
new teachers and staff receive accurate information.
- Collaborated with community-based agencies to provide HIV
prevention education to high-risk youth, including out-of-school youth.
Conducted the Youth Risk Behavior Survey
- Collaborated with the Governor's Commission, members of the school
board from the state’s largest school district, and the HIV/AIDS
Materials Review Panel to select and administer the YRBS survey
questions.
- Conducted the YRBS to receive data that are representative of
students in grades 9−12.
- Developed a marketing plan to distribute the YRBS results to
schools, health departments, legislators, and other youth-serving
agencies.
