The UC Santa Cruz Arboretum occupies one of the most propitious horticultural sites in the world, with a climatic and topographic diversity for experimenting with almost every species that might be grown along the California coast between San Diego and Crescent City, and a diversity of soils that can scarcely be matched anywhere.
