The National Park Service is holding “industry roundtable” meetings on May 15 and 16 to inform potential contractors and subcontractors about two upcoming construction projects. The projects are scheduled to begin later this year as part of the Elwha Restoration Project.
A general overview of these projects will be provided at the each meeting. Separate pre-proposal conferences and site visits for each project will be conducted after the Request for Proposals (RFP) is issued.
Potential contractors and subcontractors are invited to attend one of the industry roundtable meetings as scheduled below.

Contractors interested in attending one of the industry roundtable meetings should send a letter of interest, including the session they plan to attend to Joy Jamison at the National Park Service’s Denver Service Center. The deadline for response is May 7, 2007.

These meetings are part of the government’s market research to locate sources for proposed construction of water quality facilities as part of the Elwha River Ecosystem Restoration Project for Olympic National Park. The projects include construction of the Port Angeles Water Treatment Plant (PAWTP) under one contract and construction of the Elwha Water Facilities (EWF), including the Elwha Surface Water Intake, the Elwha Water Treatment Plant, upgrades to the Crown “Z” Water Road for construction access, and area Flood Protection, all under a second contract.
The National Park Service plans to issue the pre-solicitation notice for PAWTP on or about May 23, 2007 and to issue the RFP on or about June 7, 2007. The estimated range of construction for PAWTP is $15 to $25 million.
The National Park Service plans to issue the pre-solicitation notice and RFP for EWF in the fall of 2007. The estimated range of construction for EWF is $60 to $80 million.
