Federal Managers' Financial Integrity Act
The Federal Managers' Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA), implemented through the Department Managers' Internal Control Program, require all DoD Managers to assess the effectiveness of internal controls applicable to their responsibilities. If material deficiencies are discovered, managers must report those deficiencies with scheduled milestones leading to the resolution of the deficiency. The establishment of FMFIA material on the web is cost effective because of the world-wide implementation of the program, affecting thousands of individuals throughout the Department. The web also makes it easier and more cost effective to distribute annual guidance and to transmit the content of the Department's annual report to the President and Congress, as required by FMFIA.
