Braille Books 1999-2000 National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped Library of Congress Washington 2001 Contents This catalog lists braille books produced by NLS for adult and young adult readers during 1999 and 2000. The catalog is divided into nonfiction and fiction sections, and each section is divided into subject categories, which are arranged alphabetically. Books in each subject category are listed alphabetically by title and are described briefly. Some books may appear in more than one subject category. For instance, a collection of science fiction stories would appear in "science fiction" and again in "short stories." Bestsellers are listed in their appropriate subject categories and are also listed together in a separate section. Books of particular interest to young adults are listed after the adult fiction section. Young adult books are divided into nonfiction and fiction and are not separated by subject category. Books in Spanish and grade 1 braille books are listed after the young adults section. For your convenience, books containing strong language, explicit descriptions of sex, or violence have a notice to that effect immediately after the book description. If the book contains only occasional or infrequent occurrences of these things, the word "some" is placed before the notice, as in "some strong language." In addition to the books listed in this catalog, NLS has acquired some braille books in foreign languages and in English from other producers. If you are interested in these books, contact your braille-lending library. Because there are only a few copies of each of these books, you may have to wait for your selection.
