This is definitely a lab, but did you know that it is a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory? Before you begin 'clicking' on the photos, here's a little information about the different types of safety levels of the CDC labs. The labs are classified by the safety requirements needed for the type of work to be done in the lab. They range from Biosafety Level 1 (the lowest and needing the least safety requirements) to Biosafety Level 4 (the highest and needing the most safety restrictions).

These photos represent different angles of what a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory would look like. We chose this one because it's the most common type of lab environment at CDC. In this type of lab, our technician Eloise works with moderate risk microorganisms (big word, huh) like hepatitis B virus and salmonellae (no, it's not a fish). But even though the risk is moderate, she still needs to be in a safe environment right?

So, click on these photos to find ten safety items that are essential to keep Eloise protected in her lab. Lucky you. I bet you didn't think you were going to learn all this great stuff when you went to this site did you?
