CDC’s Global Communications Center (GCC) opened for business October 3, 2005. A state-of-the-art facility built to replace some of CDC’s aging infrastructure, the Global Communications Center houses the agency’s public information center, exhibit /education area, conference center, distance learning facilities, and CDC visitor security processing area.

CDC campus security received a much-needed upgrade with the addition of the Global Communication Center's visitor security screening facility.

The GCC Conference Center provides quality meeting space and state-of-the-art equipment for public health conferences, training, and distance learning offerings.

The CDC Information Center, located in the GCC, serves as CDC’s public health library and knowledge center, delivering timely, scientific/health literature to internal and external scientists, public health partners, CDC staff, and the public in support CDC’s research agenda.

Gobal Health Odessy

The Global Communication Center exhibit area replaced the outdated and overcrowded Global Health Odyssey Museum with displays and exhibits to educate and inform visitors and employees about CDC, public health science, and health protection practice. The space also provides a secure gateway to CDC's Roybal campus.
