Water Resources
Overview
Photo
The Water Resources program at ODOT is responsible for assessing the impacts transportation projects have on water quality and hydrology, and for developing measures that help protect Oregon’s rivers, lakes and wetlands from those adverse effects.  ODOT Region Water Resources Specialists are responsible for individual projects, while the Geo-Environmental Section focuses on policy, working with the Resource and Regulatory agencies to streamline permitting while improving resource protection, and technical expertise.  Water Resources staff at all levels work closely with biologists, erosion control specialists and hydraulic engineers to find the best solutions for the problems presented by stormwater and highway runoff.
