Volunteers often work at the Visitor Center desk.

The Petrified Forest Museum Association is the park's cooperating association, providing funding, staff, and supplies. This non-profit organization also manages three bookstores in the park, located in the Painted Desert Visitor Center, Painted Desert Inn, and Rainbow Forest Museum.

Join the Petrified Forest team and become a volunteer! The park has opportunities in interpretation, resource management, maintenance, and fee collection. Housing may be available. See below for current volunteer opportunities.
