A selection of books published by the Petrified Forest Museum Association.

Petrified Forest National Park hosts three bookstores operated by the Petrified Forest Museum Association located in the Painted Desert Visitor Center, Painted Desert Inn, and Rainbow Forest Museum. A satellite bookstore is also operated in the Historic Navajo County Courthouse in downtown Holbrook, Arizona.

Petrified Forest Museum Association is the park's cooperating association - a non-profit organization providing funding, staff, and supplies through bookstore sales.

Petrified wood at Petrified Forest National Park is almost solid quartz, weighing in at 168 pounds per cubic foot. It's so hard, you can only cut it with a diamond tipped saw!
