International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR)
The United Nations has established the ISDR as a global framework to foster the resiliency of communities to the effects of natural hazards through the implementation of risk management, hazard mitigation, and ultimately sustainable development. It is designed to enable all societies to become resilient to the effects of natural hazards and related technological and environmental disasters, in order to reduce human, economic, and social losses.

Island Vulnerability
Island Vulnerability explores the challenges that isolated geographies face when dealing with risk and disasters by examining the processes which create, sustain, and could be used to reduce their vulnerability.
