Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response

Global IDSR

 

 

The World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters promotes an integrated approach to building sustainable, nationally-owned disease surveillance systems.

   
bullet In 1998, member states in the WHO African Regional Office (AFRO) adopted the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) strategy.
bullet In 2002, WHO headquarters, the WHO South-East Asia Regional Office (SEARO) and member states developed a regional strategy for IDSR.
bullet Activities using an integrated approach are under way in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean region and the Europe region.
