Develop and implement a quality data set to support quality measurement and reporting (continued).

Possible Recommendation 2 of 2

• The QWG, building on the work of CMS, should formally suggest to the CCHIT that the incorporation of the identified quality data set be included as certification criteria for both ambulatory and inpatient EHRs.

• This requirement should be submitted for inclusion on the CCHIT Roadmap in sufficient time for the quality data set certification criteria to be ready for implementation in 2010.
