This notice invites comment on the State of Michigan''s occupational safety standards for fixed Fire Equipment. OSHA is seeking public comment as to whether the Michigan standards (which are different from Federal standard) are "at least as effective" as the corresponding Federal standards. The State amendment includes clarified and expanded definitions largely absent in the Federal standards. OSHA has preliminarily determined that they meet the "at least as effective" criterion, but public comment is solicited for consideration in OSHA''s final decision whether to approve the standards.
