Surgical Instrument
NASA has developed a surgical instrument at the Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards, Calif., that is reducing the time it takes surgeons to close small abdominal wall incisions after endoscopic surgery.
The instrument also makes the procedures safer for patients and doctors. It has been used successfully at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
