Estimated percentage of current fall foliage:   Forest wide is between 40% — 60%0%

Area with greatest amount of color:   Elevations of 7000 and above. Scattered color in all areas.

Recommended viewing routes:   260 out of Payson towards the Rim, all the way to Springerville, 191 out of Springerville to Clifton 200 miles of color. Side roads, Highway 261 to Big Lake, FR 285, FR 249, FR 275 and FR 56.

Estimated peak viewing period:   The weeks of Oct. 13-25 should be the peak for the entire forest.

Viewing tips/suggestions:   The early morning or late afternoon usually shows the best colors.

Remarks:   All types of trees and vegetation are starting to show color.
