Pennsylvania
This is Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment and Training, Emily

Today, Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao announced a grant of over
$500,000 to train Pennsylvania workers for mining careers in the coal industry.
Through courses developed by Penn State University and hands-on experience
using simulators, this grant will help prepare workers for career opportunities
running the sophisticated mining equipment of today.
Kentucky

Today, Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao announced a grant of more than
$3 million to train Kentucky workers for mining careers in the coal industry.
The grant will have a positive impact on the economic conditions of the
Appalachian region, and it will build a pipeline of workers qualified for the
future of the coal industry.
Missouri
This is Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment and Training, Emily
DeRocco.
Today, Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao announced a grant of $2.3 million
to the University of Missouri to respond to the nuclear energy industry's
requirements for well-trained radiation protection technicians. The grant will
allow the university to develop an associate of applied science degree in
nuclear technology, and will annually train up to 200 workers to fill jobs in
this critical field.
Utah
This is Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment and Training, Emily

Today, Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao announced a grant of more than
$2.7 million to train Eastern Utah workers with skills that will be
transferable across multiple energy industry sectors. These workers will be
part of Eastern Utah's workforce pipeline needed to meet increased demand for
energy from around the world.
West
Virginia
