BOTUSA
(Botswana-USA) is a partnership between CDC
and the Government of Botswana to help stop the
spread of TB and HIV/AIDS in southern Africa. BOTUSA provides training, technical assistance
and research; promotes innovation and
evidence-based best practices; and supports the
monitoring and evaluation of prevention, care and treatment
programs for HIV/AIDS and TB.

Tuberculosis/HIV Research
BOTUSA conducts research, provides epidemiologic program support and builds
laboratory infrastructure to help improve TB control efforts in Botswana.

HIV Prevention Research
With over 300,000 people in Botswana currently living with HIV, BOTUSA is researching new and effective
bio-medical approaches to prevent HIV/AIDS.

|
PEPFAR in Botswana Botswana has received more than $300 million to
scale up successful programs and launch HIV/AIDS prevention, care,
treatment and capacity building activities. The
CDC Global AIDS Program helps lead this effort. |
