Protective Coatings Hands-On Training

The Material Research and Engineering Laboratory, from time to time, presents a 2-day Protective Coatings Course. The next session is scheduled for October 28–29, 2008.

The course will familiarize students with the latest coating application and inspection techniques used in the maintenance and repair of infrastructure. Topics will include:

The class will emphasize hands-on experience. Participants will prepare steel panels, apply coatings, and perform both destructive and nondestructive inspection tests on these panels.

The training will be conducted on the Denver Federal Center, Building 56, Room 1730, and is limited to 30 participants. Class will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, and conclude at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Tuition is $800, and the registration deadline is September 30, 2008.

Reclamation and other Interior Department employees should register though DOI LEARN. (Use the key words “Protective Coatings” when searching the catalog.) Payment is made by providing your cost authority number during the registration process.
