CRIMINAL DIVISION

The Criminal Division of the Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Colorado prosecutes all violations of criminal federal law occurring within the State and District of Colorado and handles appeals from such convictions to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.  The Chief of the Criminal Division is James Allison.  The Division is organized into four sections: Major Crimes, Special Prosecutions, Economic Crimes, and the Organized Crime Drug Task Force (OCDETF).  The Major Crimes section is headed by Section Chief James Hearty, Special Prosecutions is headed by Section Chief Phil Brimmer, Economic Crimes section is headed by Section Chief Thomas O’Rourke, and the OCDETF/Drug Task Force Section is headed by Stephanie Podolak.  Dave Gaouette is the First Assistant and Executive Assistant United States Attorney and the Anti-Terrorism Coordinator.  Bob Mydans is the Senior Litigation Counsel.
