GILMER MAN SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS
FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY VIOLATIONS

 

            MARSHALL, TX – United States Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that a 43-year-old Gilmer, Texas man has been sentenced to 300 months in federal prison for child pornography violations in the Eastern District of Texas.

MILTON KEITH BUNN was indicted on March 12, 2008 and charged with sexual exploitation of a child.  Bunn pleaded guilty to the charges on April 24, 2008 and was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison today by United States District Judge T. John Ward.   

According to information presented in court, Bunn sexually exploited a minor by producing visual images of the child containing sexually explicit conduct.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood (PSC).  In February 2006, the Department of Justice created Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.  Lead by the United States Attorneys Offices, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims.  For information about Project Safe Childhood, visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov/.

This case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Upshur County Sheriff's Office and the Longview Police Department's Cyber Crimes Unit and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mary Ann Cozby.
