(TYLER, TX) United States Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that a 27-year-old Lufkin man has been sentenced to 37 months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm in the Eastern District of Texas.

CALANDRIS DEANDRE LAMB pleaded guilty on February 4, 2008 to being a felon in possession of a firearm and was sentenced today to 37 months in federal prison by United States District Judge Leonard E. Davis.

According to information presented in court, on August 22, 2007, Lamb was found to be possession of 7 firearms in Cherokee County.  An investigation revealed Lamb had previously been convicted of burglary in June 2000 in Bell County and as a convicted felon, prohibited by federal law from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition.  Lamb also agreed to the forfeiture of all firearms.
