Speaker Biography: The Berenstains, creators of the Berenstain Bears series of children?s books, met on their first day of class at the Philadelphia College of Art in 1941. Their autobiographical adventures are recounted in "Down a Sunny Dirt Road." Since their first Berenstain Bear book, "The Big Honey Hunt," more than 250 titles have been published including "The Berenstain Bears and the Trouble with Bedtime." In addition to their work on children?s books, the Berenstains have written several animated television specials with their sons Michael and Leo, who have also illustrated or written manuscripts for books in the Berenstain Bears Big Chapter Books series. The Berenstains live in Bucks County, Pa.
