David Yezzi speaks at the 2006 National Book Festival.
Speaker Biography: Poet, actor and editor David Yezzi is executive editor of The New Criterion. From 2001 to 2005, he directed the Unterberg Poetry Center at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. His poems have appeared in The Best American Poetry, The Yale Review, The New Republic and The Paris Review and his most recent collection of poetry is "The Hidden Model" (Northwestern University Press, 2003). His libretto for a chamber opera by David Conte, "Firebird Motel," received its premiere in 2003 and will be released on CD this year. A recipient of Stanford University's Wallace Stegner Fellowship, Yezzi lives in New York City.
