Agricultural fires continue to spread a shroud of smoke across Southeast Asia on March 27, 2004.
Smoke from fires in Southeast Asia appears as a brownish-gray haze over a deck of clouds to the east. The Southeast Asia biomass burning season, associated with agricultural land management, has been ongoing since early February, but seems to have been considerably smokier in mid-March. This image was captured on March 24, 2004, by the Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor (SeaWiFS).
