May 19, Governor Lingle will discuss state issues on the afternoon drive-time radio show with host Mike Buck from 5 - 6 p.m. HST.  Starting this month, the show can be heard live on Maui (KAOI 1110 AM) and Kaua‘i (KONG 570 AM), in addition to O‘ahu (KHVH 830 AM).  Listeners are invited to call 808-521-8383 from O‘ahu or 888-565-8383 from the Neighbor Islands with questions and comments. 

May 20, Governor Lingle will meet with a Mid-Pacific Institute second grade class as they tour the State Capitol.

May 20, The Governor will announce the first recipients of the Governor’s Innovation Awards.  The awards, which are part of the Lingle-Aiona Administration’s Hawai‘i Innovation Initiative, recognize deserving individuals, companies, nonprofits, organizations and government agencies that are developing innovative ways to improve Hawai‘i and to meet the challenges of the 21st century. 

May 21, Governor Lingle will deliver remarks at the kickoff meeting for the development of Hawai`i's statewide bioenergy master plan.

May 21, Governor Lingle will recognize the recipients of the 2008 Distinguished Sales and Marketing Awards, sponsored by Sales and Marketing Executives International Honolulu Chapter. 

May 21, The Governor will meet with players (ages 9 – 12 years), coaches and supporters of the Malama Na Koa Baseball Team as they prepare to play in a tournament in New York.

May 21, As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, Governor Lingle will attend a silent auction fundraiser to benefit the Ko‘olau Clubhouse.  Ko‘olau Clubhouse is voluntary program that assists adults living with the challenges of mental illness.  The program offers a supportive environment and services to promote self-growth, enhance self-esteem, increase self-confidence, foster socialization and improve the quality of life.

May 22, Governor Lingle will attend the change of command ceremony for the U.S. Coast Guard’s Fourteenth District.  Rear Adm. Manson K. Brown, commander of Maintenance Logistics Command Pacific, will assume the responsibilities from Rear Adm. Sally Brice-O’Hara, who will become assistant commandant for operations in Washington, D.C.  The Fourteenth District’s Search and Rescue area of responsibility covers nearly 12.2 million square miles of the Central Pacific Ocean.

May 23, The Governor will join the Wahiawa community in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Wahiawa Elementary School.
