I am the technology coordinator for the Lake County Literacy Program, a litieracy specialist and the Adult Learning Center site coordinator. Mostly I assess students, write IEP's, match tutors and students, recommend software and internet sites to tutors, students, staff and ABE teachers and do a lot of working with students and tutors using software and the iinternet. Recently I created Net Cards which promote independent and semi-independent use of the internet by adult new and emerging readers. I also do workshop rpesentations on integrating technology into the classroom and curriculum. My first love is technology and introudcing new and emerging readers to mulitsensory software and the Internet. I joined to learn what other programs and teachers are doing in getting back to the basics and to share our successes when the opportunity arises. I am a hands-on person who enjoys practical real-life learning and tend to shy away from the theory part of it all. Hoping to get to know everyone on the list and to learn from each one of you.
